Our April spirit assembly is on Friday, April 28 at 12:45 p.m. in the multi-purpose room.
Our 5th graders will create a group science fair project and plan under the guidance of their classroom teacher. We invite you to join us on Friday, May 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the library as students present their findings to parents and the community. We look forward to seeing you there!

What a wonderful turnout we had for our art sale and auction! Thank you to all who came and enjoyed a fabulous evening. Our PTA has to be the best group ever! Their creativity and hustle getting all the donations, making the baskets, and putting up all the artwork was amazing. Thank you for all you do for our school! A special thanks to all the volunteers that helped with set-up, clean up, food and more. We also want to thank all the local businesses and community members that gave donations. We appreciate your generosity!
We are excited about our upcoming spirit week. We want everyone to participate and show his or her school spirit. We can't wait to see your creativity for each day!
- Monday: Comfy Day - We encourage everyone to relax and wear sweatpants and sweatshirts for the day.
- Tuesday: Book Day - We want you to dress up like a character from your favorite book
- Wednesday: Western Day/Farming Day - Embrace your inner country.
- Thursday: Future Day - We want you to dress up as the occupation you would like to be when you grow up.
- Friday: Tiger Day - Wear our school colors or dress up like a tiger.
If you would like to schedule a conference with your students' teachers for March 27-31, please e-mail them or leave a message with the office.
Please call in early if your student will be absent or with any changes to your students' regular going home routine.
Student safety and well-being is of the utmost importance. It is extremely important that we have current phone numbers for all guardians and emergency contacts, so please update this information with us if it changes.

Mark your calendars for this year’s art auction on February 23 at 6:00 p.m. Student art will be on display, and we will auction off class art. A few auction items include tickets to a UW Husky game, Boom Shaka gift cards, Cougar Football tickets, spa products, and so much more! We are still accepting donations. If you own a business or have a hobby, we would love any and all donations.
Please join us at the Tenino Timberland Library for some fun! The Lego club will start on Wednesday, February 1 and run through April 26, 2017. The club will meet on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 p.m. The library will also be hosting a kick-off party on Friday, February 10 for a fun, new book club set up for children in grades 3-5. The kick-off party is from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Check out the flyers below for all the details. We'll see you there!
We are super excited to announce that our family math night is on Wednesday, January 18 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. This is a family event. All activities will be a chance for you and your child to interact together with math in the everyday world.
The annual 5th grade winter concert is on Thursday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the multi-purpose room. Students should arrive at 6:45 p.m. and go directly to their assigned places on the risers on the stage. Our 5th graders will play one song on the guitar and sing some holiday favorites. We look forward to seeing you there!
Our holiday gift shop will be open on December 13 through December 15 in the art room. Students can purchase gifts for family and friends. Most gifts are $1 to $5. We greatly appreciate any and all donations of new and gently used gifts!
Our December spirit assembly is on Friday, December 16 at 12:45 p.m. We will be honoring November and December students of the month.
Parent-teacher conferences are on November 7 through November 10. We will dismiss students at 11:40 a.m. each day. Check with your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
The Scholastic book fair is Monday, November 7 through Thursday, November 10. Please remember to add in tax when sending money to school with your child.
Bring the family and join the Tenino Tigers and Parkside Penguins at the 3rd annual fall family fun night and blue ribbon pie bake-off on Friday, November 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Tenino Elementary School multi-purpose room. It’s free fun, including the pie contest, arts and crafts, and games for all ages!
Please bring non-perishable food items or toiletries to school between November 30 and December 14. We will donate all items to the Tenino Food Bank to help families in our own community. Thank you for helping!
The October spirit assembly is on Friday, October 28 at 12:45 p.m. in the multi-purpose room.
There are a lot of exciting things happening at Tenino Elementary School! Take a look at the new fence we recently installed around the school grounds for student safety.
Rain or shine, we will have our field days on Thursday, June 9 and Friday, June 10. Please have your child dress weather appropriate. You may also want to send an extra pair of clothing for your child.
Students who owe fines for library books or textbooks will not receive their report cards until all fines are paid. Please contact us for more information.
Our PTA and volunteers are an integral part of Tenino Elementary School. We appreciate our PTA's support and generosity! Thank you, Tenino Elementary School PTA!
Please join us in welcoming our new principal, Mr. Harrington, to the Tenino Elementary School family.
Mr. Charly Harrington comes to us from North Thurston Public Schools where he has served as both a principal and assistant principal. Mr. Harrington is a very positive and dynamic leader who is very focused on what is best for his students. He has a wealth of experience working with a wide range of students and families including English language learners and special education students. He has his bachelor’s degree from The Evergreen State College and his master’s degree from the University of Washington-Tacoma. Mr. Harrington is currently engaging in transition activities at Tenino Elementary School to get to know the school and our community. He is eager to begin collaborating with our PTA, boys and girls club, and the TOGETHER! program to develop enriching activities for students before and after school as well as during the school day.
Mr. Harrington lives in Olympia with his wife Cristina and their daughter, who is soon to be attending the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Welcome, Mr. Harrington!
